With over 70 years under their belt, the people behind Mercier Orchards know a thing or two about growing spectacular apples. The orchard was officially started in 1943 by Bill and Adele Mercier in Blue Ridge, Georgia, and has stayed in the family ever since. Four generations has culminated into more than just apple-picking; Mercier Orchards now offers "U-Pick" for the public, tractor tours, a deli, a market store, their own winery and cidery... one can even reserve the lovely mountainous views and lush wooded environment for a wedding event!
Apple butter, apple pies, apple cider, caramel apples, and apple muffin mix are a few products offered in their store, but why stop at apples, right? You can find a plethora of southern treats beyond the staple apple, like almond brittle, oatmeal raisin cookies, and even strawberry rhubarb pie. Thanks to their on-site winery, Mercier is able to grow, harvest, ferment, press and bottle their entire line of wines and ciders; with seasonally availableflavors ranging from Grumpy Granny Hard Cider to Blackberry Winter Wine.
