The traditional stone milling process uses slow speeds and reduced temperatures to preserve the quality and flavor of the entire grain, creating more nutritious flours, cereals, grains, and more. Bob Moore fell in love with the idea of operating a stone mill when his love and wife Charlee decided to feed her family healthier, more natural foods, including whole grains of course. The couple took to an “honest-to-goodness” business approach and still enjoy spending time in the Whole Grain Store.
Bob’s Red Mill is also known as a health food company because of their gluten-free line that makes stone milled foods more accessible. In 2010, Bob’s Red Mill became an employee-owned company that continues to produce traditionally quartz-milled whole grain foods.
