Each slice is tender pink and smoky sweet; a holiday centerpiece you’d write home about if you weren’t already there. Firsthand Foods seeks out reputable farmers in North Carolina raising livestock humanely and without antibiotics, hormones, or animal byproducts in their feed, and connects them with honest-to-goodness food lovers. This particular cut of pork comes from the hind leg of the pig, and is sourced from Acre Station Meat Farm, a small-scale USDA-inspected meat processing facility in Beaufort County. Like many holiday dinner staples, any leftovers of this smoked ham make some of the best sandwiches you’ll make all year.
Heat oven to 350°F
Place ham in an oven-safe baking dish or pan.
Roast in oven until browned and hot in the center, about 80 minutes. Please note that the ham is shipped to you fully cooked.
*Note USDA recommends cooking ham to an internal temperature of 165°F.
Allow hot ham to rest for at least 10 minutes.
Carve ham by slicing thinly across the grain. Serve, and enjoy!
