Roasted Red Peppers

Slow roasted to release the natural sugars in red peppers and add a hint of smoky flavor to dishes.

Sweet peppers lend a myriad of health benefits. These peppers obtain their color from carotenoids and flavonoids- antioxidants that work to fight free radicals in your body. Red peppers contain negligent fat content and are a good source of fiber. Vitamins C and E have a strong presence in these veggies. Roasting pimentos are excellent for roasting due to their high sugar content. Right after the peppers are roasted, the thin skin is inflated with heat away from the body of the pepper and slips off, leaving only the tender flesh. Even once the skin is removed, there are spots of char over the pepper that are flaky nnd richly balance the bright, pepper flavor.
