Leftover Tempeh? Here's what you do
Chef Robert Lupo gives us his tips on how to use leftover tempeh.
1. If you have enough tempeh to cook in large pieces or slabs, use it like bacon or sausage. Sear it on both sides in oil or some type of fat, then add a glaze with a little soy sauce, Bragg's Liquid Aminos, maple syrup, honey, or lemon. Use it as part of a breakfast plate or on a breakfast sandwich or biscuit.
2. If you have a limited amount or crumbles, marinate it in a little ground red pepper, ground cumin, garlic and onion powder and water. Brown it in oil then use it as part of a egg scramble with cheese and salsa.
3. If you have a small amount or crumbles, brown them and throw them in with potatoes/onions for a breakfast "hash" style dish.
