This week we’re serving our favorite flat iron steaks from our friends at Halperns’. You’ll kick them up a notch by rubbing them with ancho chili powder, which is a mild spice made from dried poblano peppers. You’ll pair the steak with garlic and shallot in turmeric-spiked yellow rice. Turmeric gives curries and ballpark mustard their characteristic bright yellow color; it’s believed to have a host of health benefits, including anti-inflammatory properties. Super easy, garlic roasted sugar snap peas round out this bright meal. As always, save room for a little surprise treat at the end.
We’re excited that two of our spring favorites, asparagus and english peas, are all in one place this week! You’ll start with asparagus simply roasted with lemon (we love those crispy tips!). For the main course, you’ll pan fry local, hormone and antibiotic-free Springer Mountain Farms chicken and glaze it with soy sauce. The english peas are combined with couscous, sesame seeds, and sliced almonds for a ridiculously quick and yummy springtime dish.
